We collect certain data that you or your employer provide when requesting an account to be created in order for you to complete a course (for instance your name, surname and email address). We also collect data about your activity on the site such as when you complete a lesson or an assessment.

How is this information used?
This information is only used to provide access to the online courses on this site, and for reporting about the usage thereof.

How long is your data stored?
Your personal data is stored for as long as your account is active on this site. Striata  Learning will delete your record after one year of inactivity.  You can request a copy of your data, or the deletion thereof, by accessing your profile on the Learning Portal.


In order to operate effectively, and fulfil its obligation to your employer, the Striata Learning site must retain specific personal and usage information for a stated retention period.

This enables both Striata Learning and your employer to monitor site usage and course progress of staff using this resource.

Why does Striata Learning use cookies?
When you access the site to complete a course, we place a number of cookies in your web browser, without which this learning management system could not function. Cookies are used to store your login status and to correctly identify you as an authenticated user. Cookies also allow us to prevent fraudulent use of user accounts and offer certain site features.

What cookies do we use?

1) Cookie Name: StriataLearning

Purpose: You must allow this cookie into your browser to provide continuity and maintain your login from page to page.

Expiration: When you log out or close the browser this cookie is destroyed (in your browser and on the server).

2) Cookie Name: MOODLEID

Purpose: It remembers your username within the browser. This means when you return to this site the username field on the login page may be already filled out for you. It is safe to refuse this cookie - you will just have to retype your username every time you log in.
